Aunt Betty always helps me look festive. She is so creative!
Thanks for the pretty necklace, Aunt Betty!

The Birthday Boy

Can you believe that Puck is 7 years old now?

This is Puck on his birthday this year, doing his favorite thing: sleeping in my fleece blanket right next to his most precious toy.

Here he is at 5 years old:

And at 3 years old:

Looking at these pictures, you can see he gets whiter and whiter all the time.

Eat This, Not That!

Willie and I have something in common! We both love shoes! However, I would rather wear them than chew them.

Willie slept all weekend, and Monday morning when I let him out of the crate, he was a ball of fire running around. Too bad for him I had to go to work. His very kind Auntie Nicole came over and let him out and played with him while I worked. He has made 2 trips to the vet in 4 days. The first time they said he had a cold and the second time they said he had a parasite. Delightful... So, Willie gets to take his antibiotics 3x a day.

He is still very scared of public places. He just curls up in my arms and almost plays dead when we go to busy places with him. But, when he gets home, he runs around and chews on everything! I have about 10 toys for him, and I don't think it's enough. Maybe Santa will bring him some more.

I can't wait to spend more time with him over the holidays!

Meet Willie!

This weekend, I went to a pet adoption with a friend of mine (we believe they thought we were a couple) and ended up leaving with this little guy. He is 12 weeks old, 14 lbs, from Tennessee, and most likely a Lab mix. He is quite tired from all he has been through and the vet thinks he might even have a little cold. So Mike and Willie have been sleeping buddies for the past two days.

Look at his legs! They are huge!

Puck is very unsure of this guy. He has been keeping his distance.

I will post more pictures when he becomes more active. What do you think? Is there a little pit bull in there? Maybe boxer? He does like to throw his arms around at us a lot. He has white and black markings on his belly. Could it be border collie? Any ideas?

Holiday Crafts

I was determined to have a Family Craft Day this year, and since I set the date for it a few weeks ago, I have been so excited! My grandmother, mother, aunts, brother, uncle, and Mike were all at our house making holiday crafts and enjoying cookies and coffee.

This year, we bought the most beautiful tree, but I don't have nearly enough decorations and my tree topper is not what I would like it to be. We made ornaments out of clear balls and sleds, and many of them were donated to my Christmas tree.

Tom put a dreidel on his ornamant for my tree. He actually broke the ornament, so he patched up the bottom with a piece of felt. Classy, Tom.

When we were in Maine, Mike cut down a birch tree for us. We made centerpieces and tea light candle holders out of the logs. Drilling the holes was the hardest part and Mike took care of that.

On another note-I am very proud of myself this year because I sent out Christmas cards!

'Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving...

My holiday weekend began by reading this book in school. It's so cute. Unfortunately, by the end of my weekend, the turkeys were not saved, they were eaten.

On Wednesday night, Mike and I (oh and Puck!) hopped in our truck and headed off to Abbot, ME! We were so crammed in on the way there, and then somehow we had twice as much stuff on the way home. (Possibly because we like to shop?)

Mike bought me a book to read and I love it!

Mike was excited to fry the turkey and it tasted delicious. Although, how could something taste bad after it sits in peanut oil for an hour?

My favorite foods were the turkey, stuffing, and squash. It can be challenging to cook a meal at a camp, but I think we did an excellent job.

There was 2 inches of snow on the ground, and we lounged around in our pajamas. It got down to 18 degrees!

On Saturday night, we went out and celebrated. My teeth are red due to the beverage I was consuming. I know I should stick with clear beverages because of this problem, but it's winter!

Before we left, Mike cut down a birch tree so I can make some Christmas crafts. Hopefully I will have them done before Christmas.

Little Jasper slept in my school bag all the way home.

This weekend really put me in the holiday spirit! Hopefully I can stay this motivated until the end of the month.

Lots of Love

So, I've been avoiding the blog because honestly, I have nothing nice to say! Between work and grad classes, I'm done. But then, in the midst of correcting papers and sorting laundry, I saw the sweetest thing that reminded me why I bust my booty every day!

Last week, I went to get my hair done and I had her take off 4 inches! I forgot how much easier it is to blow dry short hair!

This weekend, I sat at home on the couch because somehow I hurt my back, hips, and knees lugging boxes of canned goods for the food drive. There were 2 truck loads and donating really gets me into the holiday spirit.

However, the pain I am feeling is a serious sign that I need to start taking better care of myself- eating better and exercising.

The Feast!

Except for the fact that I had to work yesterday, it was a great birthday! I got flowers and vanilla cupcakes with pink frosting. What's better than that?

In the early evening, I took a nap with Puck. Then Mike woke me up with a card and candy, which I ate while getting dressed to go out. Then I went to dinner with my family and ate the best food I can think of: margaritas, chips, fresh guac, fajitas, and fried ice cream!

I think I need one of those bowls so I can make my own fresh guacamole. What is the proper name for it?

Who ate all the Kit Kats?

someecards.com - In the interest of fighting the childhood obesity epidemic, I've decided to eat all the Halloween candy I bought

And now I am going to have to buy more.

Aunt Betty made me a necklace to wear for Halloween. She's so creative!

CT Pet Show

Since Mike and I are such dog lovers, we went to the CT Pet Show! There were so many animals... everywhere!

I loved watching the retrievers in the water.

I got a little too close:

I'm not really sure what's going on here:

Beautiful show dog:

A 140lb German Shepard. Huge!

A 110lb German Shepard.

Who is cuter than this teacup chihuahua?

My favorite dogs of the whole show were these spaniels. They were so nice and sweet. I wanted to take them home with me.
