A Run

Mike and I had another BIG Friday night and went for a 2-mile run. It was almost dark, so that made it kind of fun. We put on lots of bug spray and it kept all the insects away. I think we did a good job since it's been forever since we went for a run. I try to run on the road in the morning and it's so hard. However, I find the trails to be much easier. 3 miles goes by so fast on the trails and there are even some small hills to challenge me. Other than that, it's flat and scenic. I love it! I can tell I need a new pair of sneakers. That will be the only exercise for the weekend.

Today, I'm watching the US Women's Soccer Team in the FIFA World Cup. They won their last game and I'm hoping to see them win again. This is my favorite sport and I took this picture 2 summers ago when Mike took me to see a game against Canada in South Carolina.

Bully

Willie is a puppy, and he loves to chew things up. So one day at the store, I found this raw-hide-looking-thing and the woman behind the counter says "Oh ya, dogs love to chew that!" I think, "Great! Sold!" I take this lovely treat home to Willie and he is IN LOVE with it. He sits in one spot for hours chewing it up and doesn't get up until it's done. I feel like its a gift from God because I can get some work done. Two problems I immediately have with it- 1. It stinks. It is only allowed to be chewed on a floor I can wash. 2. It's pretty expensive. $7.99 for one. So, I decide that I am going to buy this "thing" in bulk.

Mike: "What is it?

Lisa: "The woman at the pet store called it a Bully Stick."

Mike: "Do you know what that is?"

Lisa: "No."

Mike: "It's bull c***."

Lisa: "Mike, why do you always have to be so disgusting? Seriously..."

Mike: "Fine, I'll look it up for you."

Turns out, that is what it is. Bully Sticks are in fact, bull you-know-whats. You can get them in bulk from Merrick. So, now I clearly have a third problem. That it's completely gross.

However, Willie LOVES them and they keep him so quiet. So, I'm getting them anyway. Today, I bought the braided variety. It was twice as long when I bought it. I took it away so I can get some peace and quiet tomorrow. Willie is crying at the shelf I put it on. Poor boy!

Off the Caff

I've been going to the doctor for various medical problems- nothing serious- but bothersome and each doctor has asked, "How much caffeine are you consuming?"

The last doctor said that I should be having no more than 1 small cup of coffee a day. 100mg of caffeine should be the max, and if I want to improve my health I should cut it more than that. She said, "I stopped drinking caffeine to improve my health and my gut."- Whatever that means.

Well maybe I am having too much. So I decided that I will stop drinking coffee, iced tea, soda, and taking medicines with caffeine. How hard could it be?

By 10am yesterday, I felt like I had the worst hangover headache. I never ever sleep in, and yesterday I was dragging myself out of bed at 1:15pm. The headache lingered until about 3pm and then it was just a dull pain in my head and neck. I'm feeling better today, but if it has such an effect when I stop, maybe I was having too much. Hopefully, I will see some health improvements very soon. :)

Rack-O!

A couple of years ago, I went to a tag sale (I love going to flea markets and tag sales in the summer!) and I found this game that I LOVED when I was a kid. I haven't seen the game or played it in years. When I saw it, I knew I had to have it- especially for 50 cents.

Mike isn't a big fan of games, but I convinced him to play against me on Saturday night. After all, I did take him to Arby's earlier, so it was only fair. It was his lucky night because he beat me twice. Maybe these wins will encourage him to play against me more often.

My New Ride

Well, Ronda the Honda wasn't cutting it anymore, so it was time for an upgrade. I went and bought a Subaru Outback. I can put my kayaks on top of it, fit lots of groceries in the back, and it will kill in the snow.

Both Mike and I were acquainting Willie with his new spot to ride in the car. Unless I get a compartment separator, he will be trying to scoot over the back seats.
